Little Louis had an adventurous spirit and boundless curiosity. When he became blind following an accident, he remained determined to continue learning. But in his time, there were no easy ways for people with visual impairments to decode letters. Louis therefore created his own alphabet, readable by touch. Today, millions of people use braille to read, write, play, and discover the world.
